Nora Hase, also known as objektpermanenz, is a German multidisciplinary artist working across photography, collage, creative coding, artificial intelligence, sound, and animation. Through the experimental use of contemporary tools and new media, they challenge static societal ideas of memory, perception, and identity.The overwhelming need to understand both self and surroundings makes their work a deeply personal exploration of the human experience. Their creative process is inherently experimental, driven by curiosity—"to see what it does" and "to see what it becomes."A background in photography remains central to their practice, as they continually grapple with its limitations—its static incompleteness and reductive two-dimensionality. Yet, photography holds a societal status of truth and absoluteness, shaping perception, memory, and ways of seeing.Shifting between figuration and abstraction, their work seeks to deconstruct and dismantle rigid structures, envisioning new possibilities and exploring the fluidity of identity in an ever-changing world.
