Derived from Aristotle’s concept that nature abhors a vacuum, "Horror Vacui" explores the modern digital realm where the non-fungibility of digital assets reveals a new era of artistic expression, filling the digital void with vibrant, imaginative creations.

The artists are set to transform digital canvases into lively explorations of the 'digital void.' Each piece is a testament to the endless possibilities of digital art, challenging the traditional fear of emptiness by celebrating the dense, intricate details that define the genre.
Auction Theme and Philosophy
"Digital scarcity is the new void," revisits the ancient fear of empty spaces—'Horror Vacui'—now recontextualized in the digital age. The Auction draws on philosophical insights to probe the limits of digital infinity, offering a dense narrative woven with modern digital narratives.
“The theme and philosophy of the show are post-Aristotelian, from a book of hermeneutics where Francoise extracted the term, for a broad intuition, more connected to a philological meaning. The fear of emptiness is composed of an anthropological sense and feeling to add meaning to reality. From this ancient book, we cross the centuries with Elna to the new definition of a new concept that addresses the limited resources in digital format and is closely related to blockchain technology,” comments Francoise Gamma, a digital artist known for creating animated GIFs that evoke the early internet aesthetics reminiscent of Netscape 3.04 era.
