Interview with Asya Nikolaeva for ACCOMPART'S Digital Art Auction House
As a curator, what inspired you to create the ๐ฉ๐๐น๐ ๐
๐ฝ๐๐๐๐๐๐ถ๐
๐ฝ๐ 18+ auction? How does this theme align with your vision of art and digital culture?
A/ The theme of nude art is timeless. It has been explored throughout history, from ancient times to the Renaissance, Romanticism, and of course today in the 21st century. In the field of digital art and the new Web3 era, we are still seeking answers, truth, and eternal inspiration from the subject of nude art. Many photographers working in this direction, such as Helmut Newton, Ralph Gibson, Horst P. Horst, have become absolute icons and trendsetters. Today, we see a new generation of nude artists who are bringing their beautiful, raw truths to the web. This truth is something we want to explore together with them, creating new trends and directions.

Your background spans across film, traditional art, and Web3. How do these different art directions shape your approach to curating digital art auctions?
A/ Over the past centuries, traditional art has isolated itself in a way that made it elitist and out of reach for many people. As a result, many decided not to engage with it at all. Digital art in Web3 represents a new era that is bridging the gap between art and collectors, and more importantly, art lovers in general. Iโm excited by the open dialogue between artists, collectors, and fans of nude art. As a curator of digital art auctions, I can feel the explosive growth of the industry, with traditional boundaries and hierarchies being pushed aside. Art is for everyone โ this is the spirit of Web3.
The perception of nude photography has evolved throughout history, from classical fine art to contemporary digital expressions. How do you see this genre evolving in the Web3 space?
A/ Everything has found its place in Web3. Itโs much simpler and more transparent than in the world of traditional art. Photography, in essence, has always been one of the first forms of digital art. Therefore, its transition into Web3 feels like a return to its roots and core principles.

What was your selection process for artists in this auction? Were there any particular themes, styles, or messages you wanted to highlight through their works?
A/ Iโm always on the lookout for new visual statements. In this auction, the timeless theme of the human form is explored through fresh perspectives, uncovering new layers of meaning and emotion. The human body, in all its uniqueness, serves as a vessel for memory, transformation, and truth. Iโve always believed our bodies are antennasโconnecting us to the cosmos, our consciousness, and our subconscious. Learning to listen to them reveals our needs, past traumas, and hidden emotions. In that sense, I see this Nude Photography Auction as having a wellness and longevity effectโnot just for the audience but for us as curators and artists as well.
For this collection, I sought out artists whose work goes beyond aestheticsโthose who capture the raw, unfiltered essence of human expression. ๐ฉ๐๐น๐ ๐ ๐ฝ๐๐๐๐๐๐ถ๐ ๐ฝ๐ 18+ isnโt just about the body; itโs about the emotions, stories, and identities it holds. From Valeri Haravetsโ striking compositions of vulnerability and power to cymoonv (Simone Garciaโs) dreamlike imagery and SHEโs minimalist yet emotionally charged portraitsโeach work challenges traditional perceptions of nude art. Nickyashika and 404 ERROR FOUND deconstruct identity and intimacy like visual diaries, while Rikki Peters and KATYA TSOY masterfully use light and shadow to redefine sensuality. Alian More, NatalieShau, Julia Vale, Tati Shegai, and The AEYE contribute their own distinct interpretationsโabstract, personal, profound.
By curating this selection, I wanted to create a space where nudity is not just seen, but feltโwhere the body is understood as a map of consciousness, a record of experience, and an artistic language of its own.
Iโve always believed our bodies are antennasโconnecting us to the cosmos, our consciousness, and our subconscious.
You are deeply involved in preserving cultural heritage and supporting emerging artists. How do you think blockchain and NFTs contribute to the longevity and value of artistic expression?
A/ I would describe blockchain as a modern "chronicle of years." It offers a clear and transparent way to preserve the history of contemporary art as it unfolds in real time. Blockchain allows us to record the arts in a way that can withstand time. I especially believe blockchain can help preserve art from fragile regionsโcountries in political conflict or those affected by natural disasters, for instance. That is exactly what weโre working on in CityX Foundation.
This auction brings together photographers from diverse backgrounds. What do you hope collectors and viewers take away from this showcase? Is there a specific message or emotion you want them to experience?
A/ In the constant flow of information, we often lose ourselves, our voice, our opinion, and our truth. With nude art, thereโs nowhere to hide โ you are exposed, which means you are honest. I hope this auction, through the works of these artists, helps viewers reconnect with their own truths, find new meanings, and perhaps open their own souls and minds. I want them to experience the joy of seeing something fragile, vulnerable and at the same time so strong and gorgeous, that maybe they can even feel a physical and mental response within their own bodies ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ

As a co-founder of Accomparts, what are your long-term goals for digital art auctions? How do you see the future of curated NFT photography evolving in the next few years?
A/ Iโm not a fortune teller, especially when it comes to the ever-evolving world of NFTs, but what I do know is that we are at the crossroads of new eras, generations, and mindsets. Iโm incredibly curious to watch how the digital and crypto art scenes evolve. Being a pioneer in bringing like-minded people together in this space is a unique pleasure. Having supported the creative economy for many years, I know, as a filmmaker, how important it is to make oneโs work not only visible but also financially rewarding. Web3 offers this unique combination. With ACCOMPARTS, weโre in for an incredible adventure where weโll uncover new digital art stars, explore new forms and directions, and create countless opportunities for talented and bold people to express themselves and achieve financial independence.
